KVADRENNALEN (“The Quadrennial” in English), a 9 months, decentralised, artist-run, nationwide, transdisciplinary art program to voice artistic responses to populist threats to the free arts in Sweden, opened on Jan. 11th, 2022 with a decentralised opening. Not one big opening in a specific art house for a specific art discipline, but a multitude of openings across the disciplines, across the country, with a multitude of voices, but with one shared message namely, a reading of the KVADRENNALEN Manifesto. With the public reading below, I, next to many other art voices, declared KVADRENNALEN officially opened!
